THE BOOK OF MORMON STUDY GUIDE

First translated into 1830 English, The Book of Mormon is for many people, and for many reasons, difficult reading.
Knowing this, in 1991 I began writing full time, this more "plain English" reference for my children.

I was careful not to change or omit any content. Most of my work was dealing with grammatical structure. I finished the work in two years.

The Isaiah chapters presented a unique challenge, but with much study and cross-referencing, those chapters became the most clear of all!

I learned first-hand that The Book of Mormon is the most correct book on earth doctrinally, but not grammatically. Proof of this are some samples of over 4,000+ grammatical changes made from the 1830 to the 1837 editions.

From Nephi to Mormon (600 B.C. to 400 A.D.) the prophet / writers engraved in a language they didn't speak........reformed Egyptian, which symbols required less engraving space than Hebrew. The prophets asked future readers to not condemn the things of God because of their "imperfections in writing".

I know the powerful truths of The Book of Mormon are independent of words. While immersed in this work, I gained a very strong testimony that Book of Mormon truths and testimonies, not specific words, are what cut through barriers of language, culture and time to powerfully change hearts and lives.

Yet the heart can't feel what the mind can't comprehend. So if your desire is to learn truth, to gain understanding and increase your testimony of "Another Testament of Jesus Christ", then please allow this web site to help you better comprehend it.

This work is for everyone, yet it will especially help those who are...

1) ...hearing impaired (deaf vocabulary friendly...reading and signing)

"Hi Tim, I just want to thank you for the Book of Mormon work you did for easy scriptures - pleasure reading. I almost read them daily.
Thank you buddy!"

                ---- Tom Osmond - April, 2003
(my 2nd cousin and 2nd eldest Osmond Brother...90% deaf)

2) ...learning English as a second language
3) ...not reading on a collegiate level, at any age
4) ...new to The Book of Mormon
"Hi Tim, I just wanted to thank you for a fine web site on The Book of Mormon. As a convert, I didn't have the luxury of growing up with primary and seminary. It's nice to have a place to go that makes the reading a little easier."
                ---- Dave Hertz - December, 2003
